Our full-care hospital in the Central Valley is one of the largest employers the County. We admit more than 19,000 patients annually and treat more than 51,000 patients in the Emergency Department each year. The scope of services includes cardiology, neurology, emergency and trauma services, air ambulance, women and childrens services, orthopedics, medical/surgical, oncology, and critical/intensive care.
We are seeking an experienced Coder. CCS required, RHIT or RHIA required. This is a Full-time Day position. Must have a 2 year Associates Degree and 2-3 years of hospital coding experience required. Thorough knowledge of medical records, medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and coding.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED OR PREFERRED: 2-3 years related experience in an inpatient and outpatient coding in an acute care hospital setting.
Demonstrated communications and customer service skills, success in organizing work and ability to multi-task. Extensive knowledge of ICD 9 CM and CPT coding.
Candidate will have to pass a 3-4 hour coding aptitude exam.
